🛍️ How to Post a Listing

1. Click + Post Ad at the top of the page.
2. Choose your listing type: Item, Job, or Service.
3. Your unique Reference Code is shown automatically — keep it safe.
4. Fill in the details and click Continue to Payment.
5. Transfer the listing fee to BML account 7730000103873 (AHMD.NABEEL).
6. Include your Reference Code in the transfer note.
7. Send the receipt screenshot to our WhatsApp.
8. Once verified, your listing goes live within 6–12 hours.

🚨 Warning Signs — Avoid These

  • Anyone asking you to pay before meeting in person or seeing the item
  • Prices that seem too good to be true (e.g. iPhone 15 for MVR 500)
  • Sellers who refuse to meet in person or only want to deal remotely
  • Requests to send money via Western Union, gift cards, or cryptocurrency
  • Anyone pressuring you to act quickly or claiming the deal expires soon
  • Listings with no photos or stolen/stock images

🤝 For Buyers — Stay Safe

  • Always meet the seller in person before paying
  • Meet in a public place — a café, a busy street, or a mall
  • Bring a friend or family member when meeting strangers, especially for high-value items
  • Inspect the item thoroughly before handing over any money
  • Test electronics before buying — ask them to power it on and demonstrate it works
  • Pay only after you are satisfied with the item
  • Ask for a receipt or proof of purchase for expensive items
  • Trust your instincts — if something feels wrong, walk away

📦 For Sellers — Protect Yourself

  • Never share your home address — meet in a public place
  • Accept cash or verified BML transfer only — confirm bank transfer before handing over the item
  • Do not send items before receiving payment
  • Be careful of buyers who offer more than the asking price and ask for a refund of the difference
  • Take clear photos of the item before the meeting as proof of condition
  • Block and report anyone who sends threats or inappropriate messages

🏠 Property & Rental Safety

  • Never pay a deposit before seeing the property in person
  • Ask for the owner's ID and property documents before signing anything
  • Have a written rental agreement before making any payment
  • Be cautious of properties listed at unusually low prices
  • If possible, verify the listing with the local island council

💼 Job Listing Safety

  • Legitimate employers will never ask you to pay to apply for a job
  • Be suspicious of jobs offering unusually high salaries for minimal work
  • Research the company before attending any interview
  • Never share your passport, ID, or bank details before you have a verified job offer
  • Meet for interviews in official office premises — not a private home

Terms of Service

Last updated: January 2025. Please read these terms carefully before using Market Hub MV.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Market Hub MV ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform. These terms apply to all visitors, users, buyers, sellers, and store owners.

2. The Platform

Market Hub MV is an online marketplace that connects buyers and sellers in the Maldives. We are a platform provider only — we do not own, sell, or take responsibility for any items listed on the Platform. All transactions are between buyers and sellers directly.

3. Listing Rules

  • All listings must be accurate and honest — no misleading descriptions or fake photos
  • You must have the legal right to sell the item you are listing
  • The following are strictly prohibited: stolen goods, illegal drugs or substances, weapons, counterfeit products, adult content, and anything prohibited under Maldivian law
  • Listings must include a valid contact number
  • Only one listing per item — duplicate listings will be removed
  • All listings are subject to admin review before going live

4. Fees & Payments

Listing fees are non-refundable once payment has been submitted. Fees are charged per listing and vary based on listing type and price range. Featured boost fees are additional and also non-refundable. Store setup fees (MVR 250) and monthly fees (MVR 100) are non-refundable. We reserve the right to change fees at any time with notice on the Platform.

5. Store Accounts

Store owners are responsible for keeping their monthly fees current. Stores that miss a monthly payment will be disabled. Reactivation requires payment of the outstanding monthly fee plus a late fine of MVR 100. Market Hub MV reserves the right to permanently close stores that repeatedly miss payments or violate these terms.

6. User Accounts

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. You must not share your account with others. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

7. Limitation of Liability

Market Hub MV is not responsible for any loss, damage, fraud, or disputes that arise from transactions between buyers and sellers. We do not guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of any item listed on the Platform. Users deal at their own risk. We strongly recommend following our Safety Guidelines for every transaction.

8. Content Removal

We reserve the right to remove any listing, store, or user account at any time without notice if we believe it violates these terms, is fraudulent, or poses a risk to other users. No refund will be issued for listings removed due to policy violations.

9. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Maldives. Any disputes shall be resolved under Maldivian jurisdiction.

Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

When you use Market Hub MV, we may collect the following information:

  • Account information: Name, phone number, email address, password (stored securely)
  • Listing information: Title, description, price, photos, location, and contact details you provide
  • Store information: Store name, category, description, logo, and payment history
  • Payment references: We collect transaction reference codes for verification — we do not store full bank details
  • Usage data: Pages visited and actions taken on the Platform (for improving the service)

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To display your listings and store to other users
  • To verify your payment and approve your listing
  • To contact you regarding your listing status
  • To manage your account and store
  • To improve and maintain the Platform
  • To investigate reports of fraud or policy violations

3. Information Visible to Others

When you post a listing, the following is publicly visible: listing title, description, price, photos, location (atoll/island), and the contact number you provide. Your email address is never shown publicly. Your full account password is never stored in readable form.

4. Data Storage

Currently, user account data is stored locally in your browser (localStorage). This means your data stays on your device. In a future version of the Platform, data will be stored on secure servers. When that happens, this policy will be updated accordingly.

5. Third-Party Services

We use WhatsApp (Meta) to receive payment receipts and communicate with users. When you click our WhatsApp button, you are directed to WhatsApp's platform, which has its own privacy policy. We use BML (Bank of Maldives) for payment processing — we only verify transfer references and do not handle your banking credentials.

6. Your Rights

  • You can request removal of your listing at any time by contacting us
  • You can delete your account and associated data by contacting us
  • You can ask what data we hold about you

7. Children's Privacy

Market Hub MV is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has submitted information on our Platform, please contact us immediately.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
